Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has outlined its 2026 exploration program for the White Star Tungsten Project, a past-producing tungsten-molybdenum skarn property in Elko County, Nevada. The program, pending final approval from the Canadian Securities Exchange, marks the first modern exploration on the property since the Mission Cross Mine ceased operations in the 1950s.

The White Star Project is located approximately nine miles southwest of Jarbidge, adjacent to the company’s Rowland Tungsten Project in the Jarbidge Mining District. Together, the two properties cover over six kilometres of prospective tungsten-bearing horizons within a contact metamorphic skarn setting. Western Star plans to conduct a property-wide high-resolution UAV magnetometer survey and a systematic soil geochemistry campaign to define the geophysical and geochemical signatures of the historical Mission Cross workings and identify new drill targets.

Historical production at the Mission Cross Mine recorded approximately 1,000 tons of ore assaying up to 1.0% WO3 (USGS Bulletin 105), which is believed to be part of a larger system. Blake Morgan, CEO and President of Western Star, stated, “White Star Property surrounds a documented past producer in a tungsten district that has never been evaluated using modern geophysics or systematic geochemistry. Our plan is straightforward: fly the property with a high-resolution drone magnetic survey and use soil geochemistry to define the true scale of the tungsten system at the property.”

The 2026 work program will integrate historical data from sources such as USGS MRDS (ID 10197459) and NBMG reports with new geophysical and geochemical surveys. The company has compiled available historical data and is integrating it with the regional geological framework developed for Rowland. The property-wide surveys aim to produce structural, geophysical, geochemical, and lithological vectors to define drill targets. The geology of the White Star Project is characterized by a contact metamorphic tungsten-molybdenum skarn system, with Paleozoic sedimentary rocks intruded by a Cretaceous quartz monzonite stock and overlain by Tertiary rhyolite flows. Scheelite, powellite, and molybdenite occur in skarn zones adjacent to the intrusive contact.

Structural controls are interpreted from historical mapping, but the absence of modern geophysics has limited interpretation. The UAV magnetic survey will refine structural interpretation, map intrusive contacts, and test whether White Star and Rowland workings are connected at depth. Soil geochemistry will help detect dispersion patterns from mineralized skarn zones, particularly where bedrock is covered. The company is also initiating a Notice of Intent with the U.S. Forest Service to permit drilling for high-priority targets identified through the program.

The acquisition of the White Star Project remains subject to final CSE approval.
