VinFast and GSM have announced new senior leadership appointments, with Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh assuming the roles of Chairman and CEO of VinFast Global and VinFast Vietnam, succeeding Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong. At GSM, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan becomes Chairman of GSM Global, while Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang takes over as CEO of GSM Global and GSM Vietnam, succeeding Ms. Pham Thu Huong. These changes come as Vingroup and its companies accelerate the development of in-house talent and transition leadership to a younger generation to support their global growth trajectories.
The appointments are significant because they position both companies to capitalize on strong growth opportunities. VinFast, a pioneer in electric vehicles, currently operates in 16 countries, including Vietnam, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Its electric cars and motorcycles are manufactured at four facilities across Vietnam, Indonesia, and India. GSM, which operates the Green SM electric taxi brand, serves seven countries—Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, Kazakhstan, and Denmark—and plans to enter at least three more markets this year. GSM also aims to become a globally scaled public company with shares listed on an international stock exchange.
Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh, born in 1993, holds a Bachelor’s degree from Singapore Management University and has held key leadership positions at VinFast and other Vingroup companies. He was appointed Chairman of VinFast Global in May 2026 and will continue as CEO of VinMetal Trading and Production JSC. In his new role, he will have comprehensive responsibility for all VinFast operations. “I am deeply honored by the Board of Directors’ trust and confidence in entrusting me with the additional responsibility,” he said. “Built on a strong foundation established over the years and supported by the growing confidence of customers across our markets, VinFast is well positioned to seize the significant opportunities ahead and further strengthen its role in advancing the global transition to sustainable mobility.”
Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang, born in 2000, has held senior leadership roles at VinFast, Green Future, VinSmart Future, GSM, and other companies. He has also invested in and serves as a major shareholder of several industrial, technology, energy, and infrastructure companies within the Vingroup ecosystem, including VinSpeed, VinEnergo, VinMetal, VinVentures, and robotics companies. His appointment at GSM underscores the company’s ambition to expand its green mobility footprint globally.
These leadership changes are more than routine succession; they reflect Vingroup’s strategic shift toward a younger, dynamic leadership team capable of managing increasingly complex global operations. As VinFast and GSM enter periods of “strong and decisive growth on a global scale,” the new leaders will be tasked with driving international expansion, operational excellence, and innovation. The transition also highlights Vingroup’s commitment to nurturing internal talent and ensuring continuity as it scales its electric vehicle and green mobility businesses.
For VinFast, the appointment consolidates leadership under a single executive, potentially enabling faster decision-making and unified strategy across its global and Vietnam operations. For GSM, the new leadership will oversee its expansion into additional markets and its planned public listing. Both companies operate in highly competitive industries—electric vehicles and ride-hailing—where agility and strong execution are critical. The success of these leadership transitions could have far-reaching implications for Vingroup’s global ambitions and the broader adoption of sustainable transportation.
