Verizon has announced a promotion for the 2026 NFL season, offering YouTube's NFL Sunday Ticket free with select mobile and home internet plans. The offer, available from July 30 through September 2, allows customers to save up to $480 on the out-of-market sports package. This move aligns with Verizon's strategy to bundle high-value content with its services, enhancing customer retention and attracting new subscribers in a competitive telecommunications market.
Customers can qualify by purchasing an eligible 5G phone and activating a new smartphone line on an Unlimited Ultimate or Unlimited Plus plan, or by switching an existing line to those plans after buying a new phone. Alternatively, switching home internet to Verizon's Fios Home Internet, select premium 5G Home options, or premium Frontier Fiber tiers (1G, 2G, 5G, or 7G) also qualifies. For existing Verizon Home Internet and Simplicity customers, a standalone subscription to NFL Sunday Ticket is available for $234, or $276 for the bundle with NFL RedZone.
In addition to the NFL Sunday Ticket offer, Verizon is launching Verizon Shine, part of its new loyalty program. The program includes weekly opportunities for customers to enter for once-in-a-lifetime experiences, such as an all-expenses-paid trip to the first NFL game in Paris, featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints. Verizon Shine also eliminates activation and upgrade fees, and introduces Verizon Dollars, which gives customers 3% cash back monthly.
The promotion and loyalty program are designed to deepen customer engagement. As noted in the press release, Verizon customers can check the My Verizon app for daily surprises and football fan surprises throughout the year. The company emphasizes that this is part of a broader effort to reward customers beyond typical perks.
The NFL Sunday Ticket offer is available for a limited time, and customers can sign up at verizon.com/nfl-sunday-ticket-on-youtube-streaming/ or visit a Verizon store. The package includes out-of-market Sunday afternoon regular season games, excluding games streamed exclusively on digital platforms. Commercial use is excluded, and additional terms and broadcast restrictions apply.
This announcement comes as Verizon continues to invest in content partnerships to differentiate its services. By bundling NFL Sunday Ticket, a highly sought-after product, Verizon aims to increase its market share in both wireless and home internet segments. The loyalty program further incentivizes customers to consolidate their services with Verizon, potentially reducing churn and increasing average revenue per user.
