Verizon (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ) today announced a sweeping transformation aimed at simplifying its offerings and eliminating customer friction. The company is eliminating activation and upgrade fees for all postpaid customers who opt into its new loyalty program, launching a streamlined plan called Verizon Simplicity, and introducing a combined mobility and home plan called Verizon One. These moves are part of a multi-year effort to put customers first by reducing complexity and increasing value.
"We're fundamentally reshaping Verizon inside and out to put the customer at the center of everything we do," said Dan Schulman, Verizon CEO. "For too long, this industry has burdened people with complex plans, forced upgrades they don't need, and so-called 'rewards' with tons of caveats. We are working to ensure everything that we do is simple, clear and delightful."
The elimination of activation and upgrade fees is an industry first, saving customers up to $40 per device. Customers can opt in through the My Verizon app. Additionally, the new Verizon Loyalty program rewards all customers—regardless of plan—with 3% back in Verizon Dollars every month, redeemable for devices, accessories, or up to 5x value from brands like Sephora, Hilton, Marriott, and Starbucks. The program also includes Verizon Shine, a weekly sweepstakes offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as tickets to the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final, VIP access to festivals, and more.
Verizon Simplicity is positioned as the industry's most straightforward plan at $45 per line, with an introductory offer of $30 per line for new customers. It includes access to Verizon's best 5G network, including 5G Ultra Wideband, with no tiers or upcharges. The plan offers 10GB of premium mobile hotspot, roaming in Canada and Mexico, and satellite texting. Customers can also add home internet starting at $35 per month. "With Simplicity, we're democratizing our network at a thoughtful price point that meets our customers' needs and drives responsible growth," said Alfonso Villanueva, Interim CEO of Verizon Consumer Group.
For customers new to Verizon, the company launched Verizon One, a combined mobility and home plan for $70 per month with taxes and fees included. Powered by Verizon's 5G network and its fiber network, the plan offers a single bill managed through the My Verizon app.
These announcements build on the success of Verizon's myPlan and are expected to be accretive to revenue and EBITDA growth while reducing churn. The company reaffirmed its 2026 financial guidance. For more information, visit verizon.com/loyalty or the My Verizon app.
