UMT United Mobility Technology AG has announced an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for 21 October 2026 in Munich, where shareholders will vote on renaming the company to WAYDEAR AG. The move, detailed in a press release, marks the final step in a strategic overhaul that has seen the Munich-based firm abandon its legacy mobility technology focus to become a pure-play provider of agent-based artificial intelligence solutions. While the name change itself is largely symbolic, it underscores a broader shift in the company’s identity that could influence how customers, partners, and investors perceive its market position.
The reorientation has been fully implemented operationally. UMT AG now markets two product lines: the Catchflow Agent for EU import processes (CATCH/TRACES) and UMS Vision AI for transport and logistics companies. These tools automate document-intensive and regulation-driven business processes for small and medium-sized enterprises. In June, the company secured NORDFROST, the German market leader in frozen food logistics, as a reference customer for CATCH automation, along with EYE Logistics for UMS Vision AI. Additional customers have since been added, according to the release. The guidance issued in August remains unchanged: break-even on a monthly EBITDA basis by the end of 2026, and revenue between 1.2 and 1.5 million euros in the 2027 financial year, with a revenue margin of 60 to 70 per cent. This margin refers to gross profit after variable sales commissions and directly attributable service costs.
The name change is intended to align the company’s brand with its current business model. The previous name, United Mobility Technology, dates back to an earlier era and no longer reflects UMT AG’s activities. WAYDEAR combines “Way” – path, process, direction – with “dear” in the sense of valuable, signifying the automation of business-critical processes. “The reorganisation of UMT AG is complete. The products are on the market, we have secured our first reference customers, and the sales organisation is in place. The company name was the last element that still dated from a different era. With WAYDEAR, we will henceforth operate under a name that says exactly what we do,” said Erik Nagel, CEO of UMT AG. The rebranding is expected to make it easier for stakeholders to understand the company’s focus, potentially aiding in customer acquisition and investor communications.
For shareholders, the change is administrative. The ISIN (DE000A40ZVU2) and WKN (A40ZVU) remain unchanged, and shares will trade under the new name following registration in the Commercial Register. A new stock exchange ticker symbol will be applied for after registration and announced separately. Shareholders do not need to take any action. The notice convening the meeting will be published in the Federal Gazette on 14 September 2026, with documents available from that date in the Investor Relations section at https://www.umt.ag.
The rebranding comes at a critical juncture. By shedding its legacy name, UMT AG aims to distance itself from a past business model that may have caused confusion in the AI market. The move could enhance its credibility as an agentic AI specialist, particularly as it targets SMEs with regulation-heavy workflows. However, the success of the rebrand will ultimately depend on continued commercial traction. With break-even targeted for 2026 and revenue projections for 2027, the name change is a signal that the company believes its operational transformation is complete. Investors and customers will now watch whether WAYDEAR AG can deliver on its guidance and scale its customer base beyond the initial reference wins.
