Trollinger Law Opens Nominations for 2026 Hometown Heroes Award

Trollinger Law LLC has announced that nominations are now open for its annual Hometown Heroes Award, an initiative designed to recognize the courageous efforts of first responders in Charles County and throughout Southern Maryland. The award, which has become a tradition for the firm, aims to shine a spotlight on those who often work behind the scenes to ensure the safety and well-being of their communities.

The nomination period begins today, and the winners will be announced on October 5, 2026. The contest is open to a wide range of emergency and public safety personnel, including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, emergency response teams, public safety providers, emergency hospital facilities and workers, military service members, and other emergency workers. This broad eligibility ensures that all facets of the first responder community are considered for this honor.

Each winner will receive a $500 cash prize and four complimentary tickets to a luxury suite at the D.C. United game on October 24, where they will have the opportunity to celebrate alongside other honorees and members of the Trollinger Law team. Additionally, the honorees will be recognized on the field during the halftime show, providing a public acknowledgment of their invaluable contributions.

The Hometown Heroes Award has a history of celebrating dedicated individuals, with past recipients including current and retired members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, the Marine Corps, the Charles County Department of Emergency Medical Services, local police and fire departments, and volunteer rescue squads. This tradition underscores the firm's commitment to honoring those who put their lives on the line for others.

Matt Trollinger, founder of Trollinger Law and a personal injury and workers' compensation lawyer in Waldorf, expressed the motivation behind the award: "We started Hometown Heroes as a way to honor a group of people whose efforts to protect and serve others often happen behind the scenes, with no expectation of recognition. First responders help people and families during some of their darkest and most vulnerable hours. We're proud to express our appreciation for their courage and support."
