Trailbreaker Resources Ltd. (TBK.V) has announced the mobilization of its diamond drill to the Swan Zone at the company's 100%-owned Atsutla Gold Project in northwestern British Columbia, following the completion of a maiden drill program at the Highlands Zone. The Swan Zone represents a copper-gold-silver porphyry target that has never been drilled, despite extensive surface exploration.
The Swan Zone is hosted in the Cretaceous Glundebery batholith, distinct from the Jurassic Christmas Creek batholith hosting the Highlands Zone, which is located 26 km away. Drilling at Highlands targeted high-grade vein-hosted gold, silver, and copper showings, while the Swan program will focus on porphyry-style mineralization. The company has defined a 1.5 km x 1.5 km multi-element soil geochemical anomaly (gold, copper, silver, arsenic, molybdenum, antimony, bismuth) at the Swan Zone, with rock grab samples grading up to 11.7 g/t gold, 212 g/t silver, and 0.81% copper. This anomaly coincides with a 2.1 km x 1.4 km donut-shaped chargeability high from a 2024 induced polarization survey and a magnetic low signature indicating elevated potassium from airborne surveys.
CEO Daithi Mac Gearailt emphasized the significance of the Swan Zone, stating it has been developed from a new discovery over five years through systematic exploration including geological mapping, soil geochemistry, and geophysical surveys. The Highlands Zone program was completed on schedule and within budget, with four holes totaling 883.40 meters testing a 500 m strike length and 412 m vertical extent. The Swan program aims to test a 1,000 m strike length to over 400 m depth, targeting surface and geophysical anomalies to improve understanding of mineralization controls and support future drill campaigns.
In addition to the Swan Zone, Trailbreaker plans to drill several copper-gold porphyry targets at the Coho property in September 2026, located 30 km northwest of the Mount Milligan mine in central BC. The Atsutla Gold Project, centered on the regional Teslin-Thibert fault system, has outlined five significant gold mineralization zones since discovery in 2020, including the Highlands Zone with veins assaying up to 630 g/t gold and 1,894 g/t silver.
