SMT Scharf AG, a global leader in bespoke transport solutions for underground mining, is accelerating its Strategy 2026 through new exclusive cooperation agreements with CFH Group, targeting expansion in Kazakhstan and South Africa. The company announced that CFH Group will serve as the exclusive dealer for all SMT Scharf products in Kazakhstan via CFT Kazakhstan T.O.O., while SMT Scharf Africa will exclusively distribute CFH Group’s air technology and environmental solutions in South Africa. This move is part of a broader effort to optimize supply chain efficiency, integrate group locations, and diversify the product portfolio, particularly in electromobility and intelligent transport solutions.
The agreements aim to strengthen local footprints and leverage synergies within the group. SMT Scharf's existing key markets, including China and Poland, remain central to its strategy, but the company is actively exploring further expansion. CEO Longjiao Wang emphasized that the cooperation with CFH Group is a significant step in driving expansion into relevant mining markets worldwide, complementing ongoing developments in light electric vehicles (LEVs) and battery-powered monorails.
Under Strategy 2026, SMT Scharf is focusing on meeting growing demand for low-emission, high-quality transport solutions. The company has already partnered with two Chinese suppliers for LEVs to enhance its product portfolio. The structural changes within the group aim to improve efficiency and realize synergies. SMT Scharf continues to develop and manufacture battery-powered transport solutions, including rubber-tyred diesel and electric vehicles for mining and tunnelling.
