At the 13th Schaeffler Automotive Symposium, held June 15-17, 2026, at the company's new Project and Technology Center in Bühl, Germany, Schaeffler AG presented over 320 product innovations to more than 300 customers. The event, themed "Beyond Driving. Innovation made by Schaeffler," marks the first major showcase of the expanded product portfolio resulting from the integration of Vitesco Technologies, combining mechanical engineering and mechatronics with electronics and sensors expertise.
Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler AG, emphasized the symposium's role in fostering customer dialogue and demonstrating first-hand innovations. "As a motion technology company, we will present the expanded competencies and product portfolio combining our strengths in mechanical engineering and mechatronics with new complementary expertise in electronics and sensors resulting from our successful integration of Vitesco Technologies for the first time ever at this event," Rosenfeld said. He also noted that by 2035, Schaeffler aims to generate 10 percent of its revenue in new segments, while the core automotive business remains central.
The symposium highlights the company's response to heterogeneous market developments globally, with a focus on innovation, resilience, and speed to market. Thomas Stierle, CEO E-Mobility at Schaeffler AG, stated: "With our broad portfolio, our global presence and local supply chains, and our pronounced systems expertise, we consistently transfer innovations to mass production. In this way, we are actively advancing the mobility transformation – toward higher efficiency and comprehensive electrification."
Products are organized into four technology clusters: Vehicle Control, Chassis & Body, Powertrain, and Energy Management. For passenger cars, solutions target connected, software-driven, and electrified mobility. In commercial vehicles, zero-emission technologies for battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), fuel cell-electric vehicles (FCEVs), and hydrogen-powered internal combustion engines (H2-ICE) are featured. For two-wheelers, the company presents bearings, engine control units, automatic transmissions, and connectivity solutions.
Matthias Zink, CEO Powertrain & Chassis at Schaeffler AG, highlighted the company's systems expertise: "One of our core strengths is the system-based approach that we take to link functions intelligently to provide a better driving experience." Schaeffler positions itself as a preferred technology partner with high vertical integration, offering integrated product innovations for cars, trucks, and two-wheelers from a single source.
As a global customer event held every four years, the symposium will continue in Detroit, USA on September 17; Suzhou, China from November 4-6; and Tokyo, Japan on December 2-3. The event underscores Schaeffler's commitment to Europe as a core market while maintaining a global presence. According to Rosenfeld, "We also believe in Europe because many of our innovations originate here and because Europe continues to be a core market for our most important customers."
