Recruitment Operating System (ROS®) has announced the release of its updated and expanded Franchise Recruitment Manual, a resource designed to align with the practices of top-performing franchise recruitment teams. Developed in collaboration with FranMan, a leader in creating professional operating manuals, the revised guide incorporates the latest advice on merging proven recruitment principles with contemporary tools and methodologies. This marks the first major revision of the manual since 2021.
Art Coley, founder and CEO of ROS®, emphasized the importance of adapting to change while preserving core values. "The fundamentals of great franchise recruitment haven't changed, and we don't want them to," he said. "What has changed are the tools, data, and technology available to recruiters. Our job is to bring those pieces together without making recruitment more complicated. We want to take an already powerful resource and make it even more relevant to how champion recruiters operate today."
The manual serves as a practical framework for franchise sales and development teams, outlining the primary roles and responsibilities of recruiters and guiding candidates through ROS®' proprietary 8-Step recruitment process. Given the evolution of the industry, the updated edition combines time-tested recruitment principles with the advanced tools and best practices that modern recruiters need. The collaboration with FranMan ensured meticulous organization and expansion of content.
Key updates include a focus on recruitment analytics, teaching recruiters to leverage data and performance metrics to understand their pipeline and improve decision-making. The manual also incorporates practical applications of artificial intelligence, enabling recruiters to use AI responsibly in their workflows. Additionally, it expands on recruiter behaviors and performance, addressing daily, weekly, and monthly habits of high achievers. New sections cover different types of franchise buyers, such as multi-unit and institutional investors, and strengthen guidance on candidate funding while maintaining a vendor-neutral stance.
The manual also enhances best practices for FDD and recruitment processes, offering deeper insights to guide candidates through critical stages. Furthermore, it explores modern learning and content integration, connecting with other ROS® educational resources like ROS Academy™, videos, and digital content to create a more cohesive learning experience.
Lennon Coley, VP of Analytics at ROS®, highlighted the significance of analytics in the update. "Historically, we’ve been very clear in our belief that analytics shouldn’t be limited to what you can access in an executive report - the information is far too valuable. We believe recruiters should have a crystal-clear understanding of their own numbers, including how they operate and where best to apply them. What we’ve accomplished by expanding our guidance in the analytics space is in tying their importance directly to recruiter behaviors and execution - which represents a significant step forward in the process."
The revised manual advances industry standards by integrating modern advancements while remaining faithful to foundational principles. It offers franchise recruitment professionals a comprehensive approach to continuous improvement and outcomes. For more information about ROS® and its services, visit ROS®.
