Rooftop Relief, a roofing contractor in Cincinnati, OH, has taken its commitment to supporting veterans to new heights by donating a complete seamless gutter system to a local military veteran. The company, known for storm damage repairs and community initiatives, recently completed the installation at the property of Jerry Townsley, a veteran whose barn's gutters were severely damaged in a storm. What started as a request for a standard veteran discount turned into a full donation, reflecting the company's deep appreciation for Townsley's decades of service.
Jerry Townsley, a graduate of Milford High School (Class of 1961), served four years on active duty in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CVA-59). Following his naval service, he continued with 20 years in the United States Air Force at Rickenbacker Air Force Base. In addition to his military career, Townsley devoted 39 years to civil service, culminating in a lifetime of dedication to his country and community. When severe weather damaged the gutters on his barn, Townsley contacted Rooftop Relief to inquire about a veteran discount. Upon learning of his distinguished service record, co-founders Jerry Vineyard and Ryan Collins decided that a discount was insufficient. They chose to replace the entire seamless gutter system free of charge.
"When Mr. Townsley called us asking for a Veteran discount after severe storm damage tore up his barn's gutters, Ryan and I looked at his decades of service in the Navy, Air Force, and civil service and knew right away—a discount wasn't enough. Replacing his gutters completely free of charge was the least we could do to show our gratitude," said Jerry Vineyard, co-founder of Rooftop Relief.
This donation is part of Rooftop Relief's annual Veteran roof donation Greater Cincinnati initiative, which has been expanded to include not just roofs but also exterior components like gutters. As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, Rooftop Relief has built a reputation for quality storm damage inspections, roof replacements, and seamless gutter installations throughout Loveland and the surrounding areas.
"Our annual Veteran program started with roofs, but stories like Jerry Townsley's remind us that home protection involves the complete exterior," added co-founder Ryan Collins. "Whether it's a storm-damaged roof or seamless gutters on a barn, we want to ensure our local Veterans have safe, durable structures protecting their property."
