REPLOID Group AG ("REPLOID") is consolidating its fertilizer business into a dedicated company, REPLOID REGREEN GmbH ("REGREEN"), based in Wels, Austria. The newly formed entity will produce and market organic fertilizers made from insect frass, targeting the Central European market. Managing Director Andreas Steinbüchler, who brings over 25 years of industry experience, will lead the company.
With this spin-off, REPLOID is establishing a structured approach for its planned entry into the fertilizer market. REGREEN's products will be derived from insect frass sourced from REPLOID's own ReFarmUnits. Insect frass is a nutrient-rich by-product generated when Black Soldier Fly larvae process organic residues from the food industry. The company plans to launch fertilizer sticks for potted plants in fall 2026, followed by a lawn fertilizer and an agricultural fertilizer for commercial farming later that year.
Europe's fertilizer market faces structural pressures, including heavy reliance on imported mineral fertilizers, tightening regulations, and increasingly degraded soils. Organic fertilizers complement mineral ones by improving nutrient efficiency, building soil organic matter, and enhancing soil resilience to drought stress. This positions REGREEN to meet rising demand for locally produced, circular solutions in agriculture and horticulture.
