PFISTERER, a global technology company specializing in electrical connection and insulation solutions, is investing approximately $2.7 million in its Rochester, New York, manufacturing facility to add three CNC lathes, tooling, and related production equipment. The investment will increase production capacity for SICON shearbolt connector components by two and a half times. This expansion directly responds to the growing U.S. demand for SICON connectors, more than half of which are now sold in the United States. By localizing production, PFISTERER aims to shorten delivery times, improve responsiveness to customer needs, and reduce transportation-related emissions.
The significance of this investment lies in its alignment with the rapid expansion of data centers across the U.S. and globally. Data centers require high-performance, exceptionally reliable connections to the power grid, and SICON connectors are uniquely positioned to meet these needs. They are the only connectors that meet the Class 2 requirements of the North American standard ANSI C119.4, and they are also type-tested in accordance with IEC 61238-1, Class A. These certifications make SICON connectors essential for power infrastructure expansion, particularly for supplying critical digital infrastructure. As data center construction accelerates, the demand for such reliable connectors is expected to surge, and PFISTERER’s increased U.S. production capacity will help ensure a secure and scalable power supply.
The investment also advances PFISTERER’s “Local-for-Local” approach, under which products for the U.S. market will increasingly be manufactured directly in the U.S. rather than imported from Germany.
