The Nordex Group has secured a contract from Swedish renewable energy developer OX2 to supply and install 11 N175/6.X turbines for the Urleasca wind farm in Romania. The 77 MW project, located near the village of Urleasca in Brăila County, about 150 kilometers northeast of Bucharest, includes a 35-year Premium Service agreement, signaling a long-term commitment to operational excellence.
In a parallel development, OX2 has sold the ready-to-build wind farm to Scatec ASA, a Norwegian renewable energy solutions provider. OX2 will oversee the entire construction phase, which is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning planned for the second half of 2028. The Urleasca wind farm benefits from a long-term Contract-for-Difference (CfD) with the Romanian State, providing revenue stability and underscoring the project's strategic importance in Romania's energy transition.

With a workforce exceeding 11,100 employees and manufacturing facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, Türkiye, and the USA, the company is well-positioned to support the Urleasca project. Its product portfolio focuses on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ classes, designed for markets with limited space and constrained grid capacity.
