Nexum Group AG, a high-growth residential real estate developer based in Munich, has announced the appointment of Sebastian Holl to its Management Board as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this role, Holl will oversee the company's finance function, financing activities, and capital markets strategy, joining CEO Philipp von Erffa and Chief People & Legal Officer Claudia Vucak on the board. This appointment marks a significant step for Nexum Group as it aims to scale its operations and enhance its appeal to institutional investors.
Sebastian Holl brings three decades of experience in the financial and capital markets industry, having held positions at leading U.S. investment banks, including Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs, as well as at Baader Bank, where he served as Head of Corporate Broking. During his career, he has conducted more than 1,000 roadshows and advised on transactions totaling over EUR 1 billion, building an extensive network among small- and mid-cap investors across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Johannes von Bismarck, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Nexum Group AG, commented on the appointment: "With Sebastian Holl, we are gaining a proven corporate finance and capital markets expert with a first-class investor network. He brings not only more than 30 years of experience in international capital markets, but also a strong track record in supporting growth companies on their path to institutional investors and family offices. His appointment marks an important milestone for the planned scaling of Nexum Group and supplements a Management Board that is exceptionally well positioned in both breadth and depth to drive the Company’s next phase of growth with focus and determination."
Holl expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating: "Nexum Group addresses two key challenges in the residential real estate market: project financing and the creation of an attractive product for both investors and home seekers. The business model is consistently designed around a reduced risk profile, with a focus on projects with advanced building rights, short project durations, and efficient capital rotation. This leads to faster turnover, stronger cash flows, and, as a result, structurally greater attractiveness for all capital partners. I look forward to shaping the next chapter of this growth story together with the team."
The appointment comes at a time when Nexum Group is positioning itself as a new category of project developers, focusing on rapid implementation, capital turnover, and scalability. Unlike traditional developers, Nexum acquires residential development projects in Germany’s top-7 cities that already have building permits or are eligible for approval in the near term, carries out projects through established general contractors, and manages marketing through its own and partner sales networks. This approach eliminates significant development risks and shortens project durations to 15-30 months, reducing capital tied up and ensuring high planning certainty.
Nexum Group's current deal pipeline comprises a development volume of over one billion euros. With Holl's extensive experience in capital markets, the company is well-positioned to attract the necessary financing to support its ambitious growth plans. His expertise in connecting with institutional investors and family offices will be crucial as Nexum seeks to scale its operations and expand its footprint in the German residential real estate market.
