Rick Wilton, a retired healthcare executive, has announced the release of his new devotional book, Every Breath, aimed at helping readers navigate life's most unwanted journeys with faith and resilience. Published by Clay Bridges Press, the book addresses universal experiences such as unexpected diagnoses, grief, and uncertainty, offering a compassionate perspective on God's presence during hardship.
Drawing from decades of personal experience and spiritual reflection, Wilton wrote Every Breath to provide honest encouragement rather than superficial platitudes. 'There is no candy coating in this book,' Wilton stated. 'I wanted to tell the truth about what it looks like to walk through an unwanted season while holding tightly to God.' The devotional combines biblical insights with practical advice on prayer, community support, and trusting God amidst pain.
Wilton's journey as a writer began over fifty years ago when his tenth-grade English teacher recognized his gift. Although he initially pursued a career in healthcare, the desire to write never faded. 'Looking back, I can see God was planting seeds all along,' he said. Now retired, Wilton devotes his time to writing, family, and ministry, drawing inspiration from prayer walks and scripture.
The book's impact extends beyond personal encouragement. Wilton hopes readers will 'come away believing that no matter what unwanted journey they are facing, God has not abandoned them.' He emphasizes that God uses every step to shape individuals into who they are meant to be. For aspiring writers, Wilton advises: 'Do the work. Follow the prompting of your heart and the Holy Spirit. Write every day. You never know how God may use your words to encourage someone else.'
