The wait is nearly over for shoppers in Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne, as Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch prepares to open its doors at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026. The new boutique, located in the Lemon Creek Ranch development, is the culmination of a year of work for owner Kelli Hull, who transformed a concrete shell into a fully stocked women's contemporary boutique. Hull was inspired to open the store after experiencing the frustration of having to drive 45 minutes into San Antonio to find contemporary designer clothing.
Hull heard similar frustrations from other women in the community, and on August 20, that changes. The grand opening festivities begin with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and confetti pop at 9:30 a.m., followed by the public opening at 10 a.m. Shoppers will be among the first to explore the roughly 1,200-square-foot boutique, which features a mix of household contemporary names and emerging designers. The first 100 purchases on opening day will receive a special gift. Throughout the weekend (Thursday through Saturday), guests can enjoy champagne, light bites, and giveaways from local partners such as Heights Wellness, Golden Salon, Rooted Strength Fitness, and Glossy Nail Bar.
The boutique's curated selection includes Paige denim, described as a "cult classic," and FRAME, alongside dresses from Milly, Shoshanna, and Marie Oliver. Younger shoppers have been excited about Aviator Nation, a Malibu, California-based sweat-and-swimwear label. The August 20 opening is timed for the new school year. Hull is already looking ahead to 2027, planning to introduce brands like Tecovas, Hunter Bell, AGL, and New Braunfels-based Sunshine Tienda.
Trunk shows are planned for the grand opening weekend, offering exclusive access to expanded collections. For Hull, the opening is about more than just selling clothes; it's about providing a service and experience. She notes that people are frustrated with a lack of customer service in retail and other industries. Monkee's aims to offer an elevated, experiential shopping experience, including personal styling, private after-hours events, and Sunday appointments.
The boutique is one of the few veteran-owned and operated Monkee's locations in the country. Hull emphasizes that supporting the military community will be a continued focus. The Lemon Creek Ranch location was chosen for its long-term promise and convenience, with easy access off I-10 and parking right in front. Hull believes the development will only continue to improve.
