Main Event, a family entertainment center, is preparing to open its first Minnesota location in Woodbury at the Tamarack Hills (540 Bielenberg Drive) in August. However, just days before the scheduled grand opening on August 3, the company announced that a shipment of 10 bowling pins has gone missing, prompting a community-wide search.
From July 19 through July 28, locals can visit Main Event's Woodbury Lost Pins page for daily clues about where the pins are hidden. Each recovered pin unlocks a VIP invite for five people and a full year of free games. The person who finds the Golden Pin will win the ultimate prize: Main Event for life.
"We are so excited to bring the Main Event experience to Minnesota, but we need the community's detective skills to help us get our lanes ready for action," said Michael Frisby, General Manager of the Woodbury Main Event. "We've hidden these pins throughout Woodbury, and we can't wait to see who can track them down and claim their prize before our grand opening on August 3!"
The new venue will offer a wide range of activities, including laser tag, bowling, arcade games, and more. Guests can also enjoy a full-service restaurant and bar with menu items such as the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich, Funnel Cake Fries, and drinks like the Cotton Candy Shirley Temple and Margarita Flight. The space is designed for friends and families to enjoy interactive games, friendly competition, and quality food and drinks.
Main Event Entertainment, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Coppell, Texas, operates over 60 locations in 23 states. It is owned by Dave & Buster's Entertainment, Inc., which also operates Dave & Buster's stores. For complete rules and eligibility, visit the Woodbury Lost Pins page.
This announcement highlights the company's community engagement strategy as it expands into Minnesota, leveraging a fun, interactive campaign to generate excitement and foot traffic ahead of the opening. The success of the promotion could set a precedent for future store launches, demonstrating the effectiveness of gamified marketing in the entertainment sector.
