LIMES Schlosskliniken AG has signed a notarized preliminary agreement in Florence to acquire the operating company of the Villa Boccella estate in Lucca, Tuscany, marking its expansion into Italy. The announcement was made on June 17, 2026.
The renovated, luxurious 14-hectare historic estate consists of eight buildings, including six villas with four swimming pools, offering 37 rooms with 62 beds across a living area of approximately 3,100 square meters. LIMES plans to transform the estate into a mental health clinic primarily aimed at an international clientele, bridging the gap between Paracelsus Recovery in Zurich and the LIMES locations in Germany.
LIMES Schlosskliniken has secured an option to purchase the property. Subject to obtaining the clinic license from authorities, the opening is planned for early summer 2027.
The LIMES Schlosskliniken Group operates high-quality private clinics for stress-related illnesses, mental and emotional disorders such as depression, affective disorders, and acute burnout conditions. Services target private patients, those entitled to subsidies, and self-payers. The group emphasizes a relationship-oriented medicine approach, offering patients a unique, protected healing environment for holistic recovery.
This expansion into Italy represents a strategic move to extend the group's presence in Europe, leveraging the appeal of Tuscany to attract international patients seeking premium mental health care. The Villa Boccella estate, with its historical charm and modern amenities, aligns with the group's philosophy of providing a healing environment that combines top medical quality with luxury.
