Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has awarded a $228,641 Vision Grant to Lions District 35-N to support the expansion and equipping of the Beauty of Sight Eye Bank in Miami, Florida. The grant will upgrade the organization's laboratory capabilities, enabling it to serve more patients throughout the state by increasing the availability of sight-restoring corneal tissue and specialized ocular biologic therapies.
According to a press release, the LCIF Vision Grant is a matching grant made possible through contributions from Lions clubs across District 35-N and Multiple District 35, which includes Florida, the Bahamas, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. The expansion will strengthen the eye bank's capacity to support ophthalmic research, education, and surgical training, while positioning it to adopt emerging technologies in vision care.

Beauty of Sight, formerly known as the Florida Lions Eye Bank, has served patients and physicians for over six decades and is located within Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the #1 ranked eye hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. The organization's new laboratory, situated just blocks away on the medical campus, will allow it to expand capabilities while maintaining close collaboration with Bascom Palmer.
