Lahontan Gold Appoints Two Independent Directors to Board Amid Santa Fe Mine Progress

Lahontan Gold Corp. (TSX.V: LG) (OTCQB: LGCXF) announced the appointment of Antony Rowe and Miranda Werstiuk as independent directors to the company’s board of directors. In conjunction with the appointments, Josh Serfass and Max Pluss have stepped down from the board. The leadership update comes as the company advances its business strategy and progresses the Santa Fe Mine project toward gold and silver production, with management noting that the refreshed board brings experience in mine development and mining finance to help guide Lahontan through its transition from mine developer to mine builder.

The appointments signal a strategic shift as Lahontan Gold prepares to move its flagship Santa Fe Mine project from the development phase into active construction and production. Antony Rowe brings extensive experience in mine development, having held senior roles at several mining companies. Miranda Werstiuk adds expertise in mining finance, which will be critical as the company seeks to fund the project’s advancement. The board refresh underscores Lahontan’s commitment to bolstering its governance with professionals who have direct industry experience in taking projects from feasibility to production.

The Santa Fe Mine project, located in the Walker Lane of Nevada, had past production of 359,202 ounces of gold and 702,067 ounces of silver between 1988 and 1995 from open pit mines utilizing heap-leach processing. According to a recent technical report, the project hosts a Canadian National Instrument 43-101 compliant Indicated Mineral Resource of 1,539,000 oz Au Eq (48,393,000 tonnes grading 0.92 g/t Au and 7.18 g/t Ag) and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 411,000 oz Au Eq (16,760,000 tonnes grading 0.74 g/t Au and 3.25 g/t Ag). The company plans to update the Santa Fe Preliminary Economic Assessment and drill test its satellite West Santa Fe project during 2025.

With the new board members, Lahontan aims to accelerate its path to becoming a gold and silver producer. The company’s focus on the Santa Fe Mine, which already has established resources and historical production, positions it to potentially deliver near-term production. The addition of directors with mine-building expertise is expected to enhance the company’s ability to secure financing, manage construction risks, and optimize operations.
