LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) has expanded its footprint in the Val-d'Or mining district with the acquisition of a 100% interest in 27 mineral claims totaling approximately 701.7 hectares. The newly acquired claims, situated adjacent to the company's McKenzie East Project in Québec's Abitibi Gold Belt, were purchased from an arm's-length third party for cash consideration of C$35,000. This strategic move is part of LaFleur's broader initiative to consolidate prospective exploration ground in the region, where it is advancing the PEA-stage Swanson Gold Project and preparing the fully permitted Beacon Gold Mill for a return to production.
The property hosts the historical Maruska gold showing and carries no associated net smelter return royalty, enhancing its value for the company. LaFleur Minerals highlighted plans to resume drilling at the Swanson Gold Deposit following recent results that extended gold mineralization below the current resource. These results underscore the potential for resource growth, which is critical for the company's development timeline. The acquisition aligns with LaFleur's strategy of building a district-scale gold project in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, one of Canada's most prolific gold-producing regions.
According to the company, the consolidation of land packages along major structural breaks is key to unlocking the full potential of the Val-d'Or area. The Swanson Gold Project, which spans approximately 19,214 hectares, includes several prospects previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining. The project's proximity to the Beacon Gold Mill, capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day, offers a significant logistical advantage. LaFleur recently released positive Preliminary Economic Assessment results for the Swanson Gold Project and the planned restart of the Beacon Mill, as detailed in a March 3, 2026 press release.
The importance of this acquisition lies in its contribution to LaFleur's near-term production goals. By expanding its land position, the company increases its resource base and exploration upside, which are essential for attracting investment and advancing the Swanson project toward development. The Maruska gold showing, in particular, presents an immediate target for drilling, potentially adding to the existing resource. With the Beacon Mill already permitted, the company is positioning itself to generate revenue through custom milling and processing of its own material, reducing reliance on external financing.
LaFleur Minerals is focused on the development of district-scale gold projects in the Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d'Or, Québec. For more information on the company's latest news and updates, visit http://ibn.fm/LFLRF.
