LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) announced the appointment of Andrew Elinesky as CEO, effective immediately, along with updates on its Beacon Gold Mill and the due diligence process with Trafigura Canada Limited for proposed prepayment and gold doré offtake arrangements. This leadership change comes at a pivotal time as the company seeks to advance its gold projects in Quebec's Abitibi Gold Belt.
Andrew Elinesky brings over two decades of senior executive and financial leadership experience to the role. He most recently served as president and CEO of Sabre Gold Mines Corp., which was acquired in February 2025. In his new position, he will oversee corporate strategy, capital markets, financing, and investor relations. Former CEO Paul Ténière will continue as president and a director, focusing on technical and operational activities.
In parallel, LaFleur reported that representatives of Trafigura and company management completed a two-day site visit to the Beacon Gold Mill and Swanson Gold Project on August 10-11. The visit included an inspection of the mill and process circuits, a review of recommissioning progress, and an inspection of the ongoing diamond drilling program at the Swanson Deposit. These activities are part of the due diligence for the previously announced proposed prepayment and gold doré offtake arrangements. However, the company cautioned that there is no assurance definitive agreements will be reached or that they will be on the terms currently contemplated.
The outcome of these negotiations could significantly impact LaFleur's ability to finance the restart of the Beacon Gold Mill and advance the Swanson Gold Project. The mill has a capacity of over 750 tonnes per day and is central to the company's strategy to process mineralized material from Swanson and provide custom milling services for other nearby gold projects.
Recently, LaFleur released a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Swanson Gold Project and the planned restart of the mill. The PEA is preliminary in nature and includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. There is no certainty that the results of the PEA will be realized.
The Swanson Gold Project comprises 481 claims and one mining lease, totaling 200.7 square kilometers. It includes several prospects rich in gold and critical metals previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining. The project is situated along a major structural break that hosts the Swanson, Bartec, and Jolin gold deposits and several other showings. Its accessibility by road allows direct access to several nearby gold mills, enhancing its development potential.
LaFleur's strategic moves, including the new CEO appointment and the ongoing due diligence with a major commodities trader like Trafigura, underscore its commitment to advancing its assets. The company's website provides more information, but the market will be watching for further developments on the offtake and prepayment agreements.
