JoySauce TV Launches on Roku, Becoming the Most Widely Distributed Network for AAPI Stories and Asian Pop Culture

JoySauce TV, the leading streaming network dedicated to American Asian stories and Asian pop culture, has officially launched on the Roku Channel, a move that significantly expands its reach to over 100 million households across North America. This launch, effective June 30, 2026, makes JoySauce the first AAPI-focused channel on Roku, marking a pivotal moment in the network's rapid growth and its mission to provide a dedicated platform for underrepresented voices.

The expansion to Roku follows recent launches on Amazon Prime Video and Plex, solidifying JoySauce's position as the most widely distributed TV network for AAPI content. Viewers can now access JoySauce TV for free across multiple platforms, including Roku, Amazon Prime Video, Plex, YouTube, JoySauce.TV, and mobile apps. This broad distribution ensures that American Asian stories and culture are available to audiences wherever they choose to watch, a key step in addressing the longstanding gap in media representation.

Founded in 2020 by tech entrepreneur Jonathan Sposato, JoySauce was created to celebrate the full spectrum of American Asian experiences while appealing to general audiences. The network offers a diverse library of original productions and acquired content, spanning scripted comedy, feature films, reality programming, documentaries, music, stand-up comedy, and community conversations. Programming highlights include "JoySauce Late Night," the first-ever AAPI late-night talk show; "Jokes with JoySauce," an all-AAPI standup comedy series currently in Emmy consideration; "Team Tan," following professional race car driver Samantha Tan; and live cultural moments such as award shows and concerts.

The Roku launch is part of JoySauce's broader strategy to build a sustainable media company that serves both American Asian audiences and anyone interested in discovering fresh perspectives. "Five years ago, JoySauce started with a simple belief: American Asians deserve a much bigger stage," said Sposato. "Launching on Roku is another important step toward making Asian American stories available wherever audiences choose to watch." The network's expansion also strengthens its ecosystem for creators, communities, and partners, as noted by COO/CFO Brandon Ferguson: "Every new platform expands our reach, but it also strengthens the ecosystem we're building around American Asian culture."

Narumi Inatsugu, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, emphasized the shift from representation to ownership: "For years, the conversation centered on representation... But the next chapter is ownership. Ownership of our stories. Ownership of our platforms." Jake Rubin, Co-founding Executive of Digital Networks, highlighted the market void: "We recognized the glaring absence of the Asian Pacific American experience, coupled with the insatiable demand for Asian pop culture entertainment."

With additional programming announcements and platform expansions planned throughout 2026, JoySauce is poised to become the leading home for American Asian entertainment and culture. The network's launch on Roku not only expands its reach but also underscores the growing influence of Asian and Asian American culture in mainstream entertainment, making it a significant development for both the AAPI community and the broader media landscape.
