Infrastructure Capital Launches Nasdaq Option Income ETF (QVOL) in Partnership with Nasdaq

Infrastructure Capital Advisors (ICA) announced the launch of the Infrastructure Capital Nasdaq Option Income ETF (QVOL), listed on the Nasdaq exchange. The fund seeks to provide investors with high monthly income and capital appreciation through a combination of equity investments in companies within the Nasdaq Composite Index and an active option writing strategy.

QVOL aims to address the traditional tradeoff between yield and capital appreciation by actively managing both the equity portfolio and option activity. Unlike many competitor funds that use systematic, long-duration option writing on an index, QVOL will dynamically write options on Nasdaq equities or indexes that ICA believes are overvalued, using short-duration options to limit upside caps. This approach is designed to capture option premiums while allowing greater participation in market upside.

The fund will select equities and options based on quantitative and qualitative analysis, including relative value indicators. By investing across the Nasdaq Composite Index, QVOL provides exposure to major technology companies, including the "Magnificent Seven" (Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla), while offering flexibility to choose from a broader set of securities. The Nasdaq Composite and Nasdaq-100 are highly correlated, with the top holdings overlapping significantly.

ICA’s investment process emphasizes discipline, consistency, and risk management. The team selects investments based on relative valuation factors such as price-to-book, price-to-earnings, and price-to-cash flow ratios, favoring companies with lower relative prices or higher profitability. Sell decisions are driven by excessive valuation, changes in fundamentals, or better opportunities.

QVOL is managed by Jay Hatfield, who has over 30 years of experience and oversees more than $3.5 billion in assets across ICA’s ETF lineup, which includes the Infrastructure Capital Bond Income ETF (BNDS) and others. The fund is distributed by Quasar Distributors, LLC.
