The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), in collaboration with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), is leading a delegation of 21 Hong Kong tech companies and institutions to Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 and will debut at 4 Years From Now (4YFN) 2026, both taking place concurrently from 2-5 March in Barcelona, Spain. This dual presence marks a strategic effort to showcase Hong Kong's innovation and technology (I&T) capabilities on a global stage, bridging research and development into real-world applications.
Building on the momentum from MWC 2025, the delegation will feature solutions beyond connectivity, including Devices and Systems, Digital Transformation, and Ecosystem Partners. The Hong Kong Tech Pavilion aims to engage global telecom leaders, enterprise decision-makers, industry partners, and investors, highlighting the city's strengths as an international I&T hub. Iris Wong, Director of Merchandise Trade and Innovation at HKTDC, stated that the pavilion is an ideal platform for Hong Kong tech enterprises to present their latest R&D and explore overseas markets. Derek Chim, Head of Startup Ecosystem at HKSTP, emphasized that MWC provides a solid ground for tech companies to validate solutions, catalyze pilot projects, and scale internationally.
Exemplary companies include Asmote (Shannon & Turing) under the Connectivity category, specializing in mmWave technology for Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), crucial for low-altitude economy initiatives and industrial scenarios like smart ports. Cresento, located at 4YFN, offers AI-powered shin guards for real-time sports performance analytics and is moving from prototypes to pilot collaborations with European football clubs. These innovations underscore the potential for market expansion and global partnerships.
Throughout the events, the pavilion will host networking receptions, themed talks, and pitching sessions to facilitate partnerships and investment opportunities. The collaboration between HKTDC and HKSTP continues to support Hong Kong tech enterprises in “going global” by building bridges that connect companies with the world, expediting internationalization to meet the growing demand for I&T globally. This initiative aims to attract talent, facilitate investments, and consolidate Hong Kong’s position as an international I&T hub.
