The Hinggan League Agricultural, Cultural and Tourism Consumption Carnival, themed "Taste the Best of Hinggan Discover the Grasslands in Beijing," has officially opened in Beijing, marking a significant step in promoting the region's eco-friendly agricultural and livestock products. The event serves as a platform for industry professionals, buyers, and media to explore Hinggan League’s offerings, which are rooted in its pristine natural ecology and advanced agricultural practices. By focusing on industry stories, product tastings, and business matchmaking, the carnival underscores the league’s commitment to green development and income growth for local communities.
At the heart of the carnival are two key industries: beef cattle and rice. Hinggan League, situated in the golden latitude belt for agriculture and animal husbandry, has strategically planned these industries from breeding to branding. In the beef cattle sector, the league has established its first national-level bull breeding station, producing over 5.5 million doses of frozen semen annually from high-quality breeds like Simmental and Angus. This initiative is coupled with a robust technical service system that provides on-site guidance to herders, promoting scientific cattle-raising practices. Additionally, the Forage Industry Processing, Logistics and Trading Park in Keyouzhong Banner has begun operations, converting crop straw into high-quality forage and developing fermented feed to reduce feeding costs.
The rice industry is equally transformative, with local research teams having developed and registered 21 high-quality rice varieties over three decades. These seeds are complemented by innovative farming methods, such as the integrated fertigation technology introduced in Zhalaite Banner, which allows rice cultivation on dry land with significant water savings. The cooperative model in Duerji Town, which unifies planting, processing, and sales, has secured reliable income streams for farmers. As the rice enters its critical field management phase, technicians and farmers are employing precise water and fertilizer management and green pest control to ensure a bountiful autumn harvest.
The carnival also highlights the integration of these industries under Hinggan League’s coordinated strategy. The concentrated beef cattle breeding and finishing base in Zhalaite Banner, operated by a state-owned enterprise, has increased collective village income. Meanwhile, 38 enterprises authorized to use the "Hinggan League Rice" brand adhere to nine established standards, driving the brand value beyond RMB 31 billion. This holistic approach has transformed the league’s ecological strengths into industrial and economic advantages, moving from selling raw products to selling brands. The event in Beijing is a testament to how Hinggan League is leveraging its natural assets to build a sustainable and prosperous future, connecting its premium products with markets across China and overseas.
