HeartBeam’s Portable ECG Device Shows Promise in Identifying Heart Attack Risk

HeartBeam Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAT) announced that a peer-reviewed article in JACC: Advances has demonstrated the ability of a risk prediction algorithm incorporating its credit card-sized HeartBeam ECG device to accurately identify heart attack risk in patients presenting with chest pain. The proof-of-concept study, which evaluated 184 patients, found that the algorithm achieved an area under the curve (AUC) of 86.5% using a single HeartBeam ECG reading combined with patient risk factors and symptoms. When a personal, symptom-free baseline ECG was available for comparison, the AUC rose to 92.9%.

The company noted that these results support heart attack detection as a future indication for the HeartBeam System and advance its broader clinical program. HeartBeam is a medical technology company focused on transforming cardiac care by providing powerful cardiac insights through portable devices. Its platform technology is designed to collect ECG signals in 3D from three non-coplanar directions and synthesize them into a 12-lead ECG, enabling physicians to identify cardiac health trends and acute conditions outside of medical facilities.

HeartBeam’s 3D ECG technology received FDA clearance for arrhythmia assessment in December 2024, and the 12-lead ECG synthesis software received clearance in December 2025. The company holds over 20 issued patents related to its technology. The full press release is available at https://ibn.fm/ainxV.

This study underscores the potential for portable ECG devices to improve early detection of heart attacks, which could lead to faster treatment and better outcomes for patients. By enabling risk assessment in a variety of settings, the HeartBeam System may help reduce the burden on emergency departments and provide patients with more convenient access to cardiac monitoring. The company’s cleared indications for use are detailed at https://www.heartbeam.com/indications.
