Evolution Metals & Technologies Guides Fiscal 2027 Revenue of Up to $460 Million as Pohang Expansion Advances

Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: EMAT) has provided initial revenue guidance of $5 million to $8 million for fiscal 2026 and $400 million to $460 million for fiscal 2027, according to a press release. The guidance reflects the expected transition from the company's current production base to the first full year benefiting from its expansion in Pohang, Republic of Korea. This revenue projection matters because it underscores the potential scale of EM&T's rare earth magnet operations at a time when global supply chains are seeking alternatives to Chinese dominance in critical materials.

The expansion involves thirteen additional ULVAC sintered magnet production machines scheduled for delivery and installation in November 2026. These machines are expected to increase annual rare earth magnet production capacity from approximately 1,000 metric tons to approximately 10,000 metric tons, including approximately 6,000 metric tons of high-performance sintered magnets. Such a tenfold capacity increase could significantly enhance EM&T's ability to serve automotive, electronics, and defense sectors that rely on rare earth magnets.

Supporting the expansion are plans to increase electrical infrastructure serving the Pohang operations from 130 MW to approximately 750 MW, acquire approximately 1.3 million square feet of adjacent land, and receive a conditionally approved approximately $20.7 million grant from Pohang City and Gyeongbuk Province. These investments indicate strong local government backing and the infrastructure needed to sustain large-scale production. The company has also secured non-China NdPr metal sourced from SRE Vietnam, which is crucial for producing magnets without relying on Chinese supply. Additionally, EM&T announced Tier-1 OEM quality certifications across six grades of high-performance sintered NdFeB magnets, a milestone that validates its products for top-tier customers.

EM&T said its fiscal 2027 guidance reflects anticipated utilization during the production ramp rather than the revenue potential of the planned capacity at full utilization. This cautious approach suggests that the company expects a gradual increase in output as the new equipment is integrated and qualified. For investors, the guidance provides a framework for evaluating the company's growth trajectory, while the expansion itself positions EM&T as a potentially significant player in the rare earth magnet market outside of China. The move aligns with broader efforts by Western governments and manufacturers to diversify critical mineral supply chains.
