DTLA ArtNight, Downtown Los Angeles's monthly celebration of arts and culture, has announced its largest expansion yet with the official inclusion of the Fashion District, effective August 6, 2026. This move connects the Grand Avenue cultural corridor with the Historic Core and the Fashion District, creating a unified cultural experience that underscores the organization's mission to activate and showcase the diversity of Downtown Los Angeles.
The expansion reflects the Fashion District's transformation from a hub of fashion and design into a vibrant community of galleries, artist studios, and creative businesses. Notable partners include the Bendix Building, Kelly O'Brien Atelier × Not For Resale LA, CRE8, Mary at The STILE Hotel, and Zenith Gallery. These venues will open their doors to visitors, offering a glimpse into the creative processes that define the district.
"DTLA ArtNight was created to activate Downtown Los Angeles and showcase everything that makes our city extraordinary," said Michael Angelo DeLance, President of DTLA ArtNight. "Expanding into the Fashion District is an exciting next step as we continue building one connected Downtown."
Mary at The STILE Hotel, located in the historic United Artists Building, joins as a hospitality destination, welcoming guests with coffee, cocktails, and live music. Kelly O'Brien, founder of Kelly O'Brien Atelier × Not For Resale LA, expressed enthusiasm: "Joining DTLA ArtNight is an exciting opportunity to welcome visitors into our working studio and share both the creative process and the finished work." Similarly, CRE8, a creative space that opened four years ago, sees this as a milestone in bringing awareness and vibrancy to the neighborhood.
On the Grand Avenue side, DTLA ArtNight continues its partnerships with cultural institutions such as DATALAND, The Broad, MOCA, Grand Performances, and The Colburn School. DATALAND, co-founded by Refik Anadol, will present its inaugural exhibition, "Machine Dreams: Rainforest," an omni-sensory AI art experience spanning over 25,000 square feet. Anadol remarked, "For many years, we have dreamed of a place where audience and artwork could merge. At DATALAND, that dream has now become reality."
In a special collaboration, Grand Performances and The Colburn School will present a classical music program at Spiral Court at California Plaza on August 6 at 6:00 p.m. The program, conducted and performed by Colburn students and alumni, features works by Joseph Bologne, J.S. Bach, Reena Esmail, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and Astor Piazzolla, highlighting diverse voices in classical music. Rafael González, President & CEO of Grand Performances, emphasized the importance of surprising and inspiring audiences through such partnerships.
The event also includes a photography experience hosted by Samy's Camera and Sony Electronics at Emergent Gallery, where participants can borrow Sony cameras, photograph the event, and enter a competition with a $2,000 grand prize in Sony gear. Selected entries will be exhibited at Samy's Camera's flagship store. "This contest is about bringing people together through photography," said Roui Kamienowicz, COO of Samy's Camera.
The historic Biltmore Los Angeles will feature internationally acclaimed photographer Andrei Duman's exhibition "The Art of X Rays," accompanied by live jazz and an artist book signing.
This expansion signifies a strategic effort to strengthen Downtown Los Angeles as a cohesive creative community. By linking neighborhoods and offering free public programming, DTLA ArtNight supports local artists and businesses while fostering a sense of unity. As the event continues to grow, it reinforces the importance of accessible cultural experiences in urban revitalization.
