Datavault AI Appoints Frank Deo as CTO of Acoustic Sciences Division Amid Spinout Evaluation

Datavault AI (NASDAQ: DVLT) announced the appointment of Frank Deo as chief technology officer of its Acoustic Sciences Division, which develops the company's ADIO, WiSA, Event Citadel and API Media technologies for spatial audio, data-over-sound signaling and live-event systems. Deo previously served as vice president of new media technology at API Media, where he led product engineering for the ADIO platform. He brings more than 30 years of experience building media, data and platform technologies, is a Technical Emmy Award winner and holds 31 issued U.S. and international patents.

Deo will lead efforts to unify the division's engineering stack across acquired operations, expand the use of artificial intelligence-assisted development tools, standardize engineering processes and simplify the underlying architecture to reduce operating costs as the business scales. The appointment expands the leadership of the Acoustic Sciences Division as Datavault AI evaluates a potential dividend spinout into a stand-alone public company. The proposed transaction remains subject to board approval, a definitive agreement, closing conditions and any required regulatory approvals.

The move signals Datavault AI's intent to sharpen its focus on two distinct business lines: acoustic sciences and data sciences. By potentially separating the Acoustic Sciences Division, which owns foundational patents in spatial audio and wireless high-definition sound transmission, the company may unlock shareholder value and allow each division to pursue tailored growth strategies. The division's technologies, including WiSA and ADIO, are already embedded in products across consumer electronics, live events and data transmission via sound.

Deo's appointment comes at a critical time as the division seeks to integrate recent acquisitions and scale efficiently. His expertise in platform engineering and AI-assisted development is expected to drive cost reductions and accelerate product innovation. The company's broader platform serves industries such as sports and entertainment, biotech, education, fintech and healthcare, leveraging high-performance computing and Web 3.0 capabilities for data valuation and monetization.
