Circus SE Appoints Former Compass Group Executive to Supervisory Board as Robotics Rollout Accelerates

Circus SE (WKN: A2YN35 / ISIN: DE000A2YN355 / XETRA: CA1) has announced the appointment of Jurgen Thamm to its Supervisory Board, a move that brings two decades of large-scale, multi-market operational leadership to the company's robotics rollout. Shareholders elected Thamm at the Annual General Meeting with a 98.35 percent approval rate, underscoring strong confidence in his ability to guide Circus through its next phase of growth.

Thamm, who previously served as Regional Director Continental Europe and as a member of the Executive Committee at Compass Group, brings extensive experience in the global food service sector. Compass Group, one of the world's largest food service companies, serves over 5.5 billion meals annually across offices, schools, hospitals, and sports venues. Thamm was responsible for operations spanning multiple countries and thousands of sites, giving him a proven track record in scaling complex, distributed food operations.

This appointment comes at a critical juncture for Circus. Ten months after launching commercial operations, the company is on track to have more than 50 autonomous systems live across nine countries by year-end, with deployments ranging from enterprise customers to defence clients, including the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) and Ukrainian ground forces. Thamm's operational expertise is expected to add a new dimension of governance as Circus scales these systems.

“Circus has built something rare: a robotics and AI platform that is already proving itself in the field, from defence deployments to enterprise rollouts,” said Thamm. “Having advised the Company since 2024, I've seen the pace of execution firsthand. I'm joining the Supervisory Board to help Circus scale that same discipline as it moves into its next phase of growth.”

Nikolas Bullwinkel, CEO and Founder of Circus, echoed Thamm's sentiments, stating, “Jurgen has watched Circus scale from close up for almost two years. His industry insights across dozens of markets is exactly what we need on the board as we accelerate our rollout and deepen our position in defence and enterprise. We're glad to have him formally on board.”

Thamm succeeds Mark Harre, who served on the board for nearly three years. Circus expressed gratitude for Harre's contributions, noting his commitment to the company's growth.

The appointment signals Circus's strategic focus on operational excellence as it expands its autonomous food supply systems. With Thamm's background in managing large-scale operations, the company aims to strengthen its board's capabilities in navigating the complexities of global deployment. As Circus continues to innovate in the robotics and AI space, this leadership addition could prove pivotal in cementing its position in both commercial and defence sectors.
