Bora Pharmaceuticals Completes $122.5M Acquisition of MacroGenics' Rockville Manufacturing Operations

Bora Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (TWSE: 6472; OTCQX: BORAY) announced the completion of its acquisition of MacroGenics, Inc.'s (NASDAQ: MGNX) GMP manufacturing operations, including a biologics drug substance facility in Rockville, Maryland and a warehousing center in Frederick, Maryland, for $122.5 million through its wholly owned subsidiary Bora Biologics USA, LLC. As part of the transaction, Bora signed a long-term CDMO Service Agreement with MacroGenics.

With this acquisition, Bora Biologics now operates 20,000 liters of single-use bioreactor drug substance manufacturing capacity across two active US sites in Rockville, Maryland and San Diego, California, and one development facility in Zhubei, Taiwan. The expanded platform supports more than four active commercial programs, with over 120 completed GMP batches supplying markets including the US, EU, Japan, Canada, and the UK, backed by fully integrated QC and analytical capabilities.

Bobby Sheng, Chairman and CEO of Bora Group, stated, "This acquisition establishes a US biologics manufacturing platform that sponsors can depend on, from development through licensed commercial supply. As regulatory and supply chain dynamics continue to evolve, we expect biotech and pharmaceutical companies to increasingly seek manufacturing partners with US-based, inspection-proven infrastructure."

The Rockville facility adds to Bora Biologics' track record of regulatory compliance, with five FDA inspections completed across its US network, including two at Rockville, and one PMDA review in 2025, all yielding clean results. The combined platform has supported more than 33 biologics and 15 biosimilars, reducing offshore dependency for biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

Bora Group plans to integrate its US drug substance capabilities with existing sterile drug product capabilities over the next 12 to 18 months, aiming to offer a seamless, fully integrated development-through-commercial biologics solution. This strategic move positions Bora to meet growing demand for US-based biologics manufacturing as supply chain resilience becomes increasingly critical.
