BHS, Inc., a St. Louis-based manufacturer of custom material handling equipment, has unveiled a new line of modular attachments for order picker trucks. The products aim to address safety concerns and enhance operational flexibility in warehouses utilizing narrow-aisle racking systems.
The new lineup includes four series: Modular Order Picker Carts, which feature heavy-duty casters for dual use as pushcarts; Modular Order Picker Platforms without casters; and specialized Furniture Carts and Furniture Platforms sized for longer forks on furniture order picker trucks. These attachments are custom-sized to fit seamlessly with the operator deck, eliminating gaps that can cause tripping hazards.
“With the growth in narrow-aisle racking, more warehouses are relying on order picker trucks,” said Trent Boothe, Technical Sales Manager at BHS. “Our goal is to make those trucks safer, more productive, and flexible enough to handle anything.” The modular design allows users to adjust shelf spacing, remove shelves, or add rails and guarding using standard tools, enabling task-based optimization without the lead times of fully custom equipment.
According to Boothe, the modular approach offers a balance between customization and speed. “We specialize in designing custom equipment, but it takes time to design something from scratch,” he said. “Our modular solutions ship a lot faster than an all-original product.
