Angkor Resources Begins Diamond Drilling at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target in Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) announced the initiation of a diamond drill program at its Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia, with a total of 2,800 meters planned over the next eight months. The program targets the Thmei North copper anomaly, a one-square-kilometer area identified through prior exploration.

The first phase, comprising three 400-meter holes, began June 24, 2026, and is scheduled for completion during the current dry-season window. The second phase, consisting of the remaining 1,600 meters, is planned for early 2027 once fields are dry and crops harvested. This staged approach aligns with Cambodia’s seasonal agricultural cycles.

Drilling orientation is designed to intersect mineralized beds more effectively. Based on 2025 drilling results, the main structural controls are north-northwest striking and steeply west dipping. The three initial holes will be drilled eastward to cut across the mineralized sedimentary rocks, which host copper mineralization within potassic-altered sediments adjacent to feldspar porphyry diorite dikes. VP Exploration Dennis Ouellette stated, “Our 2025 drilling told us how this system is oriented... by drilling to the east we put the core across the mineralized beds rather than down them.”

The Andong Bor license spans 100.28 square kilometers across Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces. Core will be logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals dispatched for assay as the program progresses. This systematic approach aims to refine the geological model and assess the economic potential of the copper-gold system.

Beyond Thmei North, the company identified Thmei South as a target requiring additional auger soil geochemistry to extend the existing copper anomaly southward. Thmei South will be the focus of subsequent drill programs.

Angkor Resources is a leading resource explorer and developer in Cambodia, operating through its mineral subsidiary Angkor Gold Corp. Co., Ltd., which holds two mineral exploration licenses with multiple copper and gold prospects. The company also has an energy subsidiary, EnerCam Resources Co., Ltd., which holds an onshore oil and gas license (Block VIII) covering approximately 4,095 km². EnerCam completed 2D-seismic in 2025 and identified multiple drill targets, with an Environmental Impact Assessment submitted for approval to drill Cambodia’s first privately financed onshore exploratory oil and gas wells under a Production Sharing Contract.

The drill program at Andong Bor represents a significant step in advancing copper-gold exploration in Cambodia, a country with growing mining potential. The results will contribute to understanding the mineral system and could lead to further development.
