Accessible Events Show USA Launches to Meet Growing Compliance and Inclusion Demands

Registration has opened for the Accessible Events Show USA, the only conference in the United States dedicated entirely to accessibility in the events industry. The event, scheduled for December 4, comes at a critical moment: one in four U.S. adults lives with a disability, according to the CDC, and a Department of Justice rule will require state and local governments to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards for their websites and apps starting April 2027. That mandate extends to the vendors and contractors serving those governments, making accessibility a compliance issue for a broad swath of the events industry.

The show aims to close a persistent knowledge gap. While American organizers have made progress—captioning is increasingly standard, access statements are becoming routine, and more teams budget for accommodations upfront—the practical details often remain elusive. The program will address how to write an actionable access statement, brief a captioner, budget for ASL interpretation, test a registration flow, and run a hybrid room where remote attendees are fully included. It will also cover often-overlooked areas such as designing for neurodivergent attendees, including quiet rooms, sensory planning, predictable schedules, and clear wayfinding, as well as building emergency procedures and evacuation plans that account for every attendee.

The event’s launch follows the success of its London counterpart, which debuted in 2025 with 600 delegates from more than 15 countries. In its first year, the London show won the EN Awards Diversity & Inclusion Award and a Silver at the Cool Event Awards for Disruptor Attitude—two honors rarely achieved by a debut event in the same year. “Bringing the Accessible Events Show to the U.S. is an exciting opportunity to grow the conversation around event accessibility internationally,” said Catherine Grinyer, Co-founder of the Accessible Events Show and Director at Attendable. “We want to give event professionals practical ideas, knowledge, and connections that will help them create more inclusive experiences, and to showcase the people and organizations already doing brilliant work in this space.”

The U.S. edition carries the same format and standards as the London event, with a program tailored to American organizers and compliance requirements. “U.S. organizers are starting to prioritize accessibility, but there’s still a real gap in knowledge and awareness, and that’s exactly the gap Accessible Events Show is perfectly positioned to close,” said Hiral Bhatt, Co-Director of the Accessible Events Show USA. “Whether you’re planning a small internal meeting or a major conference, we invite you to join us, virtually or in person, and be part of that shift.”

The December 4 program will feature keynotes, panels, and hands-on workshops on digital accessibility, hybrid production, assistive technology, and WCAG conformance. Speakers include accessibility experts, event organizers, and disabled professionals sharing lived experience. A sponsor showcase will connect planners with captioning providers, ASL interpreters, and accessible design consultants. Super Early Bird pricing ends September 30; in-person seats and free virtual passes are available at www.aesusa.org/registration. A limited number of sponsor and exhibitor packages remain, with details at www.aesusa.org/sponsorship.

The timing underscores the event’s significance. With the DOJ compliance deadline less than a year away, the Accessible Events Show USA offers a timely opportunity for event professionals to gain the skills and insights needed to meet legal requirements and create genuinely inclusive experiences. By bringing together experts, vendors, and advocates, it promises to accelerate the industry’s shift toward accessibility as a standard practice rather than an afterthought.
